Ephorhelm for Windows
Windows only for now. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit (x64). There is no macOS or Linux build yet. Both are on the list, and we are not going to pretend to know when.
Version 0.8.0-beta.1, published September 13, 2026. Free during the beta.
The installer puts Ephorhelm in your user profile and does not need an administrator. It updates itself from this site, silently, and offers a restart when an update is ready.
What you need first
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64).
- Claude Code installed and signed in. Ephorhelm runs your existing Claude Code; it does not bundle it and it never holds your Anthropic credentials.
- Git Bash, for the hooks that report session activity. Git for Windows includes it.
- An Ephorhelm account, to activate the machine. Create one.
Voice dictation is optional and needs nothing extra: Whisper ships inside the app and runs on your CPU.
About the SmartScreen warning
The beta installer is not code signed yet. Windows SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC" the first time you run it, and Chrome or Edge may warn that the download is uncommon.
To install anyway: choose More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather wait for a signed build, that is a fair call - a signing certificate is in hand for a later beta, and this page will say so when it lands.
We would rather tell you than have you find out at the prompt.
After you install
- Start Ephorhelm. It shows a short activation code, like HELM-4K7Q.
- Open ephorhelm.ai/activate, sign in, and enter that code.
- Approve the device. The app picks up its licence within a few seconds.
- Open a project from the picker with Ctrl+Shift+N and you are running.

For scripts
The current version is published at https://ephorhelm.ai/releases/win32/x64 as a Squirrel.Windows feed, and /api/releases/latest returns the version, publish date and installer URL as JSON.
